GEETHANJALI ARTIFACTS is an antique gallery located in a 200-year-old, majestic French bungalow in the French Quarter of Pondicherry. The gallery was founded by Vikneswaran who comes from a family of third-generation antique dealers. GEETHANJALI ARTIFACTS carefully curates and showcases authentic artefacts and rare antique furniture. The pieces displayed are distinctive and primarily South Indian in origin. The brand is home to spectacular antique Tanjores (paintings on wood from Tamil Nadu), magnificent doors, awe-inspiring sculptures, stunning artefacts and remarkable pieces of furniture.
GEETHANJALI ARTIFACTS pieces feature striking and intricate details in bold and vibrant colour palettes. The gallery’s items pay homage to Indian culture and in particular, south Indian culture. For instance, the paintings showcase the everyday lives of south Indian farmers, the sculptures display different south Indian dance forms and the furniture show the brilliant artwork of local artisans. The gallery’s specialty lies in curating exceptional pieces, which showcase Indian tradition and aesthetics, which appeal to a global audience.
The brand's most antiques include a rosewood bed carved with deities, rare company school Mica paintings and its Tanjore paintings.
